Rex GE/GB: Ground Effect and Gran Basso
The Rex GE tractor gets an all-new look for 2015 in line with the distinctive family styling introduced on the latest generation of Landini tractors. The new Rex GE/GB series features a fully redesigned hood and front grille with integrated round headlights, while the decals on the hood sides reflect the new look adopted in 2012. The driving position in both the cab and platform versions is finished in the same colours as the plastics of the dashboard and side consoles. The cab version also sports a new colour for the ceiling. The new Rex GE/GB tractors still offer a choice of three transmissions and a variety of front and rear axle solutions, resulting in different wheelbase sizes and track widths. The range comprises three models designed for specific applications:
- GE model: (low orchard) ideal for work under low orchards and overhead trellis systems.
- GB model: (low orchard) this new version is based on the current GE features but is lower.
The new Rex offers the same high standards of comfort and performance as its predecessor. The driving position is designed to offer the driver a roomy and comfortable workstation with ergonomically-arranged controls capable of responding more efficiently to the ever more specialized needs of modern farming. Powered by powerful Perkins Tier 3 turbo-aftercooled engines, the new Rex series features a transmission with Hi-Lo splitter gear and power shuttle, a PTO with electrohydraulic engagement, an electronically-controlled rear hitch and a variety of hydraulic options. Plus, a tight steering radius provides excellent manoeuvrability, further enhancing the tractor performance and productivity. All these features convert the Rex tractors into reliable, versatile machines capable of handling a variety of implements with ease and of coping with almost any terrain and crop. The Rex tractors deliver a unique combination of performance, functional features and efficiency, without compromising on look and comfort.
PERKINS 1103D AND 1104D TIER 3 ENGINES FOR HIGH POWER AND FUEL ECONOMY
The Rex GE/GB tractors are powered by the Perkins 1103D and 1104D three- and fourcylinder engines. Specially designed for farming applications, these modern, ecofriendly engines incorporate advanced features and technologies and meet the Tier 3 emission regulations. The Rex range comprises seven models with power ratings of 74 hp (naturally aspirated), 83 hp (turbocharged), 68, 79, 92.5, 102, and 110 hp (turbo aftercooled). Featuring an advanced fuel injection system that optimizes air-fuel mixture and enhances combustion efficiency, these engines combine high levels of power and torque and low running costs. The tilt-up hood opens wide to provide easy access to the engine compartment for routine service and maintenance.

SPEED FOUR, SPEED FIVE AND POWERFIVE TRANSMISSIONS. THE RIGHT SPEED AT THE RIGHT MOMENT
Working in specialized crops means working with utmost precision. The Rex series has been purposely conceived to respond to this specific need and a wide range of transmission configurations is now being offered to achieve this goal. The Rex series comes with three different types of gearbox: a mechanical TECHNO version – Speed Four basic gearbox (with 4 speed ratios 12 FWD + 12 REV) with mechanical reverse shuttle; a TOP version with two different types of gearbox: a mechanical version with Speed Five (with 5 speed ratios 15 FWD + 15 REV) with mechanical reverse shuttle and the hydraulic Powerfive version (with 5 speed ratios 15 FWD + 15 REV + splitter gear with Hi-Lo electro-hydraulic engagement for 20% speed reduction to achieve 30 FWD + 30 REV speeds) with hydraulic reverse power shuttle.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT
The hydraulic system features a double pump that provides a total flow of 82 l/min. The Rex tractors are fitted as standard with two single-/double-acting remote valves, including one with float function. The tractor can be optionally equipped with an electro-hydraulic three-way flow divider that is operated by a lever integrated into the right-hand console. The lever incorporates three buttons that enable the operator to control either the right lifting rod, the hydraulic top link or a remote valve. As an alternative, a triple pump with three front remote valves controlled by a joystick can be optionally fitted to operate front-mounted implements. The high-quality quick-release couplings, mounted on both the front and rear of the tractor, are easily accessible for convenient and fast operation.
